According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, Natpower said it had altered some of its plans after feedback from the local community during a consultation. They included relocating a proposed transmission substation away from the western edge of the site and reducing its size.
It estimated that 4–6GW of LDES storage would be needed by 2030. As well as the cap and floor scheme, the government said it would engage with projects at advanced stages of technological readiness to explore financing options.
